Day 1 Monday - Destination Yachats OR

Left Cannon Beach around 9am.  The marine layer was doing its' in and out dance so the views over the water were mixed as we headed south on 101.

We decided to take the first day slowly and to drive only 139 miles to Yachats 

( the "gem of the Oregon coast").  

A pleasant meander along the coast with no traffic and the sun shining off and on afforded us a few photos where the light and subjects looked interesting.  

This part of the trip was very familiar to Charles who had made the run south several times before; less so to Gordon once south of Llincoln City.

Stopped for some great halibut and chips in Newport and landed in Yachats an hour later.

Tomorrow more south to Gold Beach where we are reserved early Wednesday for a hundred mile jet boat ride up the Rogue river.  We're psyched !
